ESCUELA BOLERA

ESCUELA BOLERA

FROM ABSOLUTE BEGINNER TO ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE

BACKGROUND

Bolera dances are the product of the exchange of ideas, movements and techniques between French and Italian academic ballet masters and Spanish folklore masters during the last third of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. Regional dances became academic when they left the communities and small towns to move to theatrical performances. The Escuela Bolera, created in Spain did not use foot positions as open as in French classical dance. On the other hand, existing steps were incorporated and their names were kept, for example, the careos, the matalaaraña, the paso de caballo, the panaderos and the jerezanas among others.

ESCUELA BOLERA is a wonderful dance class. An ideal practice to enhance your focus and the coordination of steps with the play of the castanets. Very challenging, yet fun and beautiful.
